I am currently Principal Heritage Officer at Canterbury City Council. Previously I work in the private sector with Turley to provide specialist heritage and conservation services to promote and manage change within the historic environment.I have experience undertaking archival and desk-based research and on-site visual survey to assess the significance of heritage assets, and contribution of their setting to significance, to inform proposals for change. I also provide advice on new development within the historic environment, considering opportunities and constraints for potential sites. My professional and design advice is informed by the framework of heritage legislation, planning policy and guidance, and in light of best practice; providing a sound basis for promoting change. I have experience with the production of Heritage Appraisals, Statements and Impact Assessments, as well as Environmental Statement Chapters for Built Heritage. I have also supported applicants through Appeal processes as part of Written Reps and Hearings. Full Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.
