As part of the Turley Heritage team, I assist in the preparation of heritage appraisals, assessments and applications. I provide effective support by producing clear and well-researched work for heritage projects, based on a sound understanding of the principles of conservation and the issues associated with development in the historic environment.

Walmer Castle

As a Historic Property Steward my duties included visitor welcome, ticket and retail sales, cash handling, and presentation of the castle, wider site and shop floor. As part of a team I was also responsible for visitor safety on site and the security of the castle and its collections - including collections care under the supervision of curators. I have also been involved in large-scale events such as the Battle of Hastings event held annually at Battle Abbey.

Dover, Kent

Working as part of the conservation team on the Dover Western Docks Revival project for Dover Harbour Board at the Port of Dover. The main responsibilities of this role included the thorough research and understanding of the history of the Port of Dover, creating clear, well-evidenced studies. These were used in the preliminary stages of the project to engage with key stakeholders, including Historic England and officers from Dover District Council, as well as during the commencement of works to better understand the sensitivities of the site.

In my role as Job Shop Assistant, I promoted the services of the Job Shop and the Careers Service more widely, through the use of social media and print advertising, as well as face-to-face with students in the Job Shop. I assisted students in the preparation of CVs and Covering Letters, and in the search for part-time work or placements. I also assisted employers in the advertisement of their vacancies.
