As an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Abolhasani's lab I worked to expedite the discovery, development, & manufacturing of nanomaterial. My most recent research project focused on characterizing the experimental design space for the single stage continuous flow synthesis of the Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) QD using dynamic experimentation.

During my second invaluable internship with Novozymes, North America, I worked on redesigning the hot water system used for fermentation; I constructed the piping and instrumentation diagram for the optimized hot water system and completed the technoeconomic analysis for transformation of the existing system. Additionally, I developed the complementary training manual for the hot water system, which included operation procedure, safety protocol, and basic troubleshooting. Lastly, I devised an experimental framework to investigate soy grit consumption, aiming to establish correlation between residual soy grit concentration, batch contamination, and product yield.

In this role, I strived to cultivate an inclusive, lively living community, while representing NCSU.

During my invaluable internship with Novozymes North America, I was able to optimize the CIP (Cleaning In Place) process for the ultrafiltration membrane system, resulting in 3700000 GAL Of Water, 17000 MIN Of Production Time, and $75,000+ saved annually. To monitor the long-term performance of the optimized CIP process, I programmed an automated Excel tool to periodically calculate the water, production time, and money saved since implementation. Additionally, I tested for microstability by product, quantifying the result through photographic pixel intensity and concentration analysis to provide valuable information on the quality of cleaning throughout Novozymes’s process.

Designed and presented an interactive STEAM lecture weekly, followed by an interactive activity.

As a lifeguard, I ensured the safety of each patron in my designated watch zone, guarded weekly kayaking and professional swim team practice, and built sweet friendship with those that I regularly saw.

At the farm, I ran my own produce stand in the heart of Raleigh, providing the local community with affordable, healthy farm-fresh food every day of the week. Since becoming manager of the Raleigh stand, I increased yearly net profit by 15%.
