My education in both Biology and Forensic Investigation through the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has honed my attention to detail and my dedication to completing scientific and investigative tasks with absolute precision. I declared my second major in Biology after learning that I could graduate in three years, instead taking the initiative to learn more and expand my knowledge rather than graduating earlier than expected. I have always had a passion for learning and expanding my knowledge which is why a career in the dynamic field of Forensic Investigation appeals to me. Throughout my college experience I took on many leadership positions in my sorority, including three of the most significant: President, New Member Educator, and Vice President (twice!). These positions have taught me immeasurable lessons about conflict resolution and communication, as well as guiding a group to reach specific goals and maintaining a positive environment. I was elected to join the Executive Board at the earliest possible opportunity and spent each semester in the organization as a member of the Executive Board in some capacity after that. My previous work experience includes retail sales as a cashier at the former Ben Franklin Craft Store and at Atomic Antiques in Madison, WI, which has improved my communication and problem solving with customers and members of the general public. Additionally, I was also hired as a tutor in the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Writing Center, assisting students with papers at all stages of development. Through this position I gained experience working both in-person and via Zoom, providing support for students who did not consider themselves to be good writers and who had not yet started their papers, but also with students who were confident writers who wanted feedback and suggestions to improve their writing.
