With over 17 years of experience, I have successfully navigated clients in the private and public sectors through complex regulatory environments as they relate to cultural and historical resources. My work involves collaborating with clients’ environmental, engineering, and construction teams, state and federal agencies, city planning departments, municipalities, and various organizations to locate and inventory cultural resources; manage coordination with local, state, and federal agencies; and ensure compliance with mandates of environmental and land-use regulations. I have a proven track record of completing the cultural resources elements of successful fossil fuel and renewable energy projects. I have satisfied numerous municipal and local governments through the successful, timely, and cost-effective completion of historic preservation projects. These projects range from smaller survey and evaluation projects to large projects involving identifying and evaluating over 2,000 resources. I excel at building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients and am proficient at identifying and engaging stakeholders.My unique perspective, gained from spending much of my childhood and all of my adult life in Monongalia County, West Virginia, has allowed me to witness the tremendous change and growth that has transformed the area into the primary economic engine for North Central West Virginia and the fastest growing metropolitan area in the region. This personal connection, combined with my career of consulting for clients in the private and public sectors throughout West Virginia, has led me to segue into real estate as a licensed agent in recent years. Having surveyed thousands of properties throughout the state as a consulting architectural historian and cultural resources manager, I am keenly aware of which qualities make a client’s property stand out and how to highlight those features. I have the unique ability to communicate the story of a property in a way that engages prospective buyers and offers homebuyers a distinctive glimpse into the communities in which they are investing and living. With my extensive background in researching and writing histories, proposals, management plans, historical technical reports, and academic articles, I am equally adept at conveying history through informal mediums such as blogs, media articles, podcasts, and creative works, particularly poetry and short stories. My passion lies in bridging connections among people through language, the land, and the built environment.
