The M.S. in biostatistics program at the University of Florida allowed me to learn and practice skills in linear and non-linear regression, survival analysis, clinical trial methods, computing, and consulting. There was an interdisciplinary focus on epidemiology and public health. My capstone project before graduating was based on the Oregon Health Insurance Experiment. I analyzed data in R using chi-square tests, logistic regression, and generalized linear mixed models to determine if access to health insurance (Medicaid) had a significant impact on financial burden and diagnosis of health outcomes such as hypertension.Directly after graduating with my M.S., I took personal maternity leave before deciding to begin my professional career. During this time, I devoted myself to family while practicing effective time management, task prioritization, and conflict resolution. While I have enjoyed my time with family, I am ready to dedicate myself to my career and professional growth.I have recently worked as a temporary data analyst for a research study in UF’s College of Education. This role included data cleaning, manipulation, and visualization, along with linear regression and longitudinal data analysis using a linear mixed models approach in R. I delivered actionable insights and recommendations on how to move forward with their project. Ultimately, the research team re-entered the data collection phase of the study which halted my work with them. I currently work with my husband’s squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base as a Key Support Mentor to bridge the gap between Air Force leadership and families. I lead a team of Key Support Liaisons in addition to organizing events and providing support to families as they navigate the military lifestyle, whether it be moving to a new city or providing resources and encouragement while their spouse is deployed. I receive continued training in sexual assault and suicide prevention. My work has been recognized at the top level; I achieved the key spouse of the quarter at the base-wide level for the second quarter of 2023, key spouse of the year at the squadron level in 2023, and received recognition from the mayor of Panama City. My previous work history has also consisted of a few temporary research positions. This has allowed me to gain skills on learning quickly, adapting to change, working independently, and collaborating on diverse teams with a vast array of personalities and skill sets.
