My duties were those of a basic EMT. I operated the ambulance, initiated patient contact, performed patient assessments related to basic emergencies and trauma situations, and completed the necessary documentation. I assessed patient vital signs and administered treatments within my scope of practice. Other duties included cleaning/washing the vans and ambulances as well as upkeep of the station.

I was responsible for the personal care of a number of clients. My duties included: meal preparation, feeding, bathing/grooming/dressing, hair care, oral/mouth care, assistance with medication administration, assistance with client ambulation (including walking, sitting, transferring of client), and assistance with physical therapy exercises dependent on the specific client. Other duties included light housework and upkeep of the client's home, laundry, and answering the client's telephone. When in extended care facilities my main duties were companionship and assisting the staff with cleaning, feeding, and moving the client.
