The Director of Prevention Services position provides leadership, vision, supervision, and guidance for prevention-related services, including Substance Abuse Prevention, Collegiate Recovery Program, Experiential Prevention Initiatives, and Sexual Violence Prevention. The Director engages regularly with students, alumni, faculty, donors, and community members in a collaborative manner.Leadership & Supervision : Provide modern visionary leadership for prevention-based programs within the Dean of Students Office to strengthen student experience at the University of Oregon. Hire, train, supervise, and annually evaluate the work of program leads including supporting the professional development and growth of staff.Programming : Assume leadership across campus for the development and delivery of a comprehensive prevention programs for students including sexual violence, experiential prevention, collegiate recovery, and substance misuse and abuse. Establish student connections, and in collaboration with a wide range of students/student groups; identify and create evidence-based, prevention of sexual violence and substance misuse and abuse campus-community engagement initiatives; advise student organization or students and staff members involved in campus sexual violence prevention. Assessment & Research : Assists in the implementation, analysis, and reporting of data for the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) and other prevention related surveys. Collaborates with prevention services staff to develop meaningful outcomes, outcome measurements, and methods of program evaluation for prevention services programs.

Health Promotion Specialist supports and strengthens University-wide education and outreach to undergraduate and graduate students, with a primary focus on issues related to Substance Misuse Prevention. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of alcohol and drug services for students. These services include education, prevention, assessment, outreach, and referral.-Develop and implement evidence-based, audience-specific educational programs; develop and manage a comprehensive program calendar.-Meet with students for motivational interviewing and education, using BASICS technique. -Serve as WashU representative for Missouri substance misuse coalition; complete annual review, strategic planning, and survey requirements.-Play a lead role in researching best practices for prevention education.-Support and maintain a peer recovery group.-Create promotional materials for print, web, and electronic media.-Develop and manage a budget for prevention efforts.-Cultivate working relationships with campus partners. -Recruit, train and supervise graduate practicum students.

The Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Specialist plays a key role in increasing and strengthening University-wide education and outreach to undergraduate and graduate students, with a primary focus on prevention and the intersections of sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking and dating and domestic violence.1. Develop and implement evidence based, audience specific educational programs; Develop and manage a comprehensive program calendar. 2. Play a lead role in researching best practices for prevention education .3. Foster relationships and partner in educational endeavors with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and the Title IX Office.4.
