I have recently graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with an Upper Second Class Honours in BA Human Geography. Here I studied courses related to Gender Development Studies, Global Cities, Politics and Commodities. For the summer of 2014 I undertook an International Internship in India with WhizMantra; a children's education developer company. The company is based in Jharkhand, a north-eastern state of India. Here, the company have looked to implement trainings for the illiterate women of this state. In doing this, I worked in a team of two to conduct a socio-economic survey to assess the literacy skills of women in the city of Dhanbad. Objectives of this survey were to serve as a platform to create relevant literacy programmes for the women, ultimately allowing them economic independence. This internship provided me with vital knowledge regarding the process in which development programmes are implemented and the importance of planning before implementation. It has also given me a strong passion to seek new opportunities in relation to Corporate Social Responsibly and Social Development projects in the developing world.

The survey investigated women of ages 30-50 as we felt this age had a correlated relationship to child-bearing and therefore putting importance on their children attending school also. In collecting the data, a report was also constructed to detail the findings of the literacy levels of women.Learning to plan and implement effectively with not only a Romanian work associate, but the Indians in the company as well, provided me with excellent communications skills that will serve me well in an international context. I have also gained thorough survey skills to aid me in further research collection in the future. As well as this, I have gained skills in professional report writing and formulation for companies.
