Completed a 6-month/26-week internship with the following rotations:Pediatrics:-Facilitated sessions with patients on the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and inpatient floors -Planned, implemented, and evaluated 2 group sessions per week and individual sessions to increase emotional expression, improve coping skills, increase normalization of environment, support cognitive and social development, and decrease anxiety and pain perception-Collaborated with the interdisciplinary team and pediatric palliative care teamAdult Palliative Care:-Facilitated individual sessions at bedside with patients and families to provide comfort and spiritual support, provide an emotional outlet, improve coping skills, and provide opportunities for reminiscence and life review -Collaborated with the interdisciplinary palliative care team to assess, implement, and evaluate goals of careNeonatal Intensive Care Unit:-Facilitated individual sessions with infants and caregivers to decrease infant and caregiver stress, improve infant ability to self-regulate, support infant development, and increase infant-caregiver bonding-Led a NICU parent support groupBehavioral Health:-Planned, implemented, and evaluated 7 inpatient and outpatient group sessions per week with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults with psychiatric disorders including chronic thought disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, neurocognitive disorders, and disruptive behavior disorders-Facilitated group and individual sessions with patients to improve coping skills, increase relaxation and stress management skills, decrease cognitive distortions, increase decision-making skills, provide an emotional and creative outlet, improve anger management skills, improve self-esteem and body image, and improve self-awareness and insight
