Advisor: Sergio Sañudo-Wilhelmy, Ph.D.Project: Environmental Regulation of Retinal and Bacteriochlorophyll (NSF Award #1335269)• Extracted seawater filters from the San Pedro Bight (SPOT) for pigment analysis, including LC-MS quantification of retinal and fluorometric quantification of chlorophyll-a.• Analyzed raw LC-MS data and chromatograms for retinal oxime. Confirmed that using an internal standard for quantification is consistent with quantification using traditional external standard curve methods. • Sample preparation and spectroscopic measurements for nitrites in dissolved seawater SPOT samples from September 2016 to December 2017.

Collaborated with student-athletes to set academic goals at the semester, weekly, and daily levels, creating personalized plans to achieve them. Worked as a canvasser for an Environment California campaign to raise awareness and funds to educate California's senators so that they can lead the opposition against the Trump administration's environmental rollbacks.As a Field Manager, I assigned my team the areas to canvass, prepare materials for the day, build up the talent in my team, and then write the report at the end of the night on what was fundraised.Due to my talents as a canvasser and a Field Manager, I was sent to San Luis Obispo to run a camping canvass for myself and four other canvassers for a week. During this time, we canvassed in the suburbs of SLO, and as a team we raised over $10,000 during just four nights of canvassing.Met with prominent politicians from California including State Senator Ben Allen, State Senator Kevin de Leon, and staff members from Senator Kamala Harris' office to discuss important Environment California campaign activities.

Assisted the team in the lab to help develop a car for the annual competition sponsored by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
