This role includes stock management, date checking and rotation of stock, till operation, gift wrapping and icing of products, greeting and serving customers and ensuring a high standard of customer service is delivered. I also have to be mindful of daily sales targets and I am responsible for minimizing loss and maximizing profits in order to attain these targets. I have been trained to carry out tasks normally undertaken by senior sales staff, such as returns and exchanges of products, and I regularly assist the store manager with stocktaking. I have also been responsible for training and supporting temporary staff members during busy seasons, and assisted with the training of permanent staff members. I have also arranged, organised and attended external sales at Easter and Christmas at a local school. This involved helping children to ice their own Easter eggs and liaising with the school staff. Initially I worked in the store as a temporary sales assistant during busy periods, which led to a permanent position beginning in September 2012.
