Primarily, I lead the organization of all special events materials for the 2024 summer and permitted city events. In this role, I operate largely independently of my supervisors, while overseing a small team on-site during organization.Additionally, I help construct and take down temporary event venues for many of the different summer and permitted programming that the City of Vancouver hosts across its many parks. My job requires strong collaboration with our events team and communication with the community to encourage engagement in our programming. It also requires a working knowledge of the infrastructure of the city's most popular parks, so I am able to best assist outside event organizers who are collaborating with the city.

I work as an events leader and stage manager for the city's new "Vancouver Arts & Music Festival" in August 2023. During the event, I acted as a stage manager, coordinating live performances on the festival's secondary community stage. For this, I managed a rotating group of volunteers and city staff members to greet and accomodate 15 different muscial groups. I worked to facilitate the safe and time-sensitive transitions between all groups, while also ensuring that all the needs of and requests by each group was satisfied to the best of my team's abilities. Prior to the event, I have worked on outreach: promoting the festival through postering and encouraging local business engagement.

I work as a staff member in a daily Senior Center Project program serving seniors with physical and mental disabilities. Every weekday clients and staff engage in creative and social activities to work toward yearly wellness goals for each client. The role requires strong communication skills and coordination with care providers to best serve the individual needs of each client.

Each week during the school year, I work with a co-lead to facilitate and teach a creative arts class through the City of Portland's Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation program. Each class, I work with students of all ages with developmental and physical disabilities to complete a planned art project and promote community and creativity amongst attendants.

I taught 3-5 introductory hand building and wheel-throwing classes per week to all ages, developing rapport with new and returning students so that they were comfortable learning new skills and asking questions. Additionally, I engaged front of house walk-in artists interested in paint your own pottery, tracked pottery through firings, maintained general studio upkeep and cleanliness, and ensured a professional and welcoming atmosphere.

I worked independently and collaboratively to construct theatre sets and props, learning and applying skills including painting, carpentry, heavy manual labor, sculpting, and design. Outside of productions, I organized, cleaned, and logged theatre props, lighting materials, and other artifacts using Excel, providing students, faculty, and visiting professionals with navigational tools to access the theater's supply catalogue.

I assisted with the development and implementation of several marketing projects to prepare for the new theater season, all using new technologies and according to new college-wide regulations. I balanced multiple responsibilities requiring strong written and verbal skills, excellent organizational skills, and fast responses to obstacles: writing and revising the office training manual, synthesizing new accessibility language and regulations for the theater, transistioning our entire ticketing system to a new software, fixing software glitches on the go, and addressing urgent administrative tasks according to strict deadlines.

I learned a variety of coding software on the go to synthesize and augmente Processing code for my supervisor to use in his art practice. Whitman College awarded me an "Abshire Student Research Scholar Award" given to a number of student / faculty teams each semseter to pusue a scholarly interest during the academic year, after my supervisor nominated me for the grant after having worked with him for several years.

I operated independently and remotely according to set specifications by my supervisor, cleaning, preparing, and manipulating materials for use in her exhibitions. I assisted in variable jobs from art assembly, spray painting, packaging and shipping fragile objects, object construction, and more.

I managed a collaborative 4-member team of students to design the layout of both our magazine's print and web issues. In this position, my team and I brainstormed and designed during the 1-2 week period prior to our regular magazine releases, using Wix Website Editor, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop. I delegated responsibilities based on interest and ability, and ensured we maintain momentum to meet our deadlines.

I designed, constructed, and continue to maintain the website for our on-campus art magazine, ensuring student access to our magazine content and up-to-date information on organization applications and news. I also aided in transitioning our organization to online publishing for the first time, allowing broad student access to our material during COVID-19 quarantine, reaching students across the nation and even abroad.

I greeted and toured visitors and prospective students around Whitman College's campus, answering various questions ranging from the typical to the more pointed. I also engaged with prospective students online during COVID-19 quarantine, talking one-on-one about my experience as a Whitman student.

I managed a collaborative 23-member team of faculty, students, and field professionals to produce a Frankenstein retelling, resulting in the theater’s highest attendance in 4 years. My responsibilities, including: leading and recording regular meetings, devising long-term schedules, overseeing all rehearsals and performances, settling communication disputes, organizing shared files, and responding quickly and surely during emergencies.For my work, I achieved the regional "Meritorious Achievement Award for Stage Managing" from The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, for exceptional student or faculty work

I acted as assistant stage manager to Donovan Olsen for our theatre's production of "Life is a Dream" by Pedro Calderón de La Barca. In this role, I ensured that rehearsal ran smoothly under my manager, prepared the stage before and after performances, completed technical changes during performances, and finished other odd jobs for members of the production team.

I assisted a Boise ceramicist in producing staple ceramic products like mugs, bows, plates, yard flowers, and more, which allowed my boss to develop new products and attend additional art showings. Additionally, I cleaned, organized, and sorted products and supplies to ensure a productive work environment.
