I gained experience in a variety of bat surveying techniques, including bat roost potential surveys and dusk and predawn surveys for various roosting sites such as buildings and trees. I have experience using Elekon Batlogger M Bat Detectors and subsequent sonogram analysis using BatExplorer software.I aided in surveying bat boxes across Northern Ireland, collecting data on bat box characteristics, such as aspect, box type and temperature in relation to box occupancy. I then statistically analysed this data using R and SPSS statistics to determine species preferences for my MSc dissertation to help aid in future conservation methods and site management.
