I planted, cultivated, and harvested medical marijuana. This included pruning, transplanting, determining if a disease or pest was present on the plant, testing the water and soil on a regular basis, measuring and mixing nutrients for watering, and applying treatments to the plants.

I helped plant, manage, and harvest a 15-20 acre organic produce farm, both in the field and a greenhouse. I operated tools such as a backpack fertilizer and seeder, various hand tools, and a tractor on the farm. I assisted in washing and packaging our produce, and helped distribute it among members of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) group.

I helped promote workshops by creating fliers and posting on local radio and newspaper websites. I interviewed local food producers and created farmer profiles about them to serve as a marketing tool.

East Lansing, Michigan

I collected and identified macro-invertebrates from various areas inside the Red Cedar Watershed, while recruiting and engaging volunteers. I analyzed my findings, determined stream health in each location, and contributed my date to an online database. I generated graphs and wrote a final report about the health of the Red Cedar River in the area.
