Desk-based research and field work on a range of projects relating to health and social care, children and young people's services and criminal justice. This included evaluations, needs assessments and childcare sufficiency assessments. The role involved:• Compiling reports for clients to bring together research findings and present practical suggestions for how to use these findings to improve delivery and effect change.• Facilitating workshops to discuss findings with stakeholders and gather feedback to inform next steps. • Designing research tools, such as interview templates, surveys and case study templates. • Conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups with stakeholders and service users to gather their perspectives on projects/services. This includes structured, semi-structured and unstructured formats, both face-to-face and by telephone. • Completing qualitative analysis of data from focus groups and interviews to understand the opinions and experiences of participants. This informed the evaluation of projects/services and included using thematic approaches based in grounded theory and narrative methods. • Quantitative analysis of a large-scale survey of service users to contribute to a local authority needs assessment concerning a range of services.• Quantitative and qualitative analysis of service-level, borough-level and publicly-available data. • Reviewing literature, policy and best practice in the fields of health and social care, children and young people's services and criminal justice.

Administration, project work and reception duties– liaising with Higher Education Institutions and academics; cooperating with in-house finance, events and publicity teams to ensure smooth-running of specific projects; collation, production and proofing of handbook for an annual programme; adding content to website; audio transcription.

Work supporting families where there is a young carer - emotional support; advice and information; signposting and referral to other services; advocacy; strategic work with City of York Council to improve identification and support of young carers in York; development of online training course for professionals.
