Research conducted using large-lake statistical water balance modeling to recreate historical net basin water supply in the Great Lakes to understand long-term averages for precipitation, evaporation, runoff and outflow processes.

Examining the barriers facing coastal communities in the Great Lakes Region in preparing for extreme water level fluctuations exacerbated by climate change. Particular attention given to federal funding availability, political momentum, project eligibility restrictions, public-private partnerships, and infrastructure. Support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management.

Comprehensive literature review of historical and modern diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in higher education and business. Special consideration given to first generation college student experiences and graduate student and mentor/PI culture in higher education.

Collected fied data in urban streams and rivers for habitat quality and erosion monitoring effort.

Midwest Center for Excellence Center for Vector Borne Disease (MCE-VBD) at the University of Wisconsin- Madison medical entomology lab studying emerging infections and disease prevention in tick borne pathogens. Field processing and live trapping small rodents for ear punches, ear tag, tail snips and retro-orbital blood sample, tick removal and radio collaring with subsequent telemetry tracking.

Control of invasive plant species in more than 1700 acres of core property and outlying sites via manual pulling, seed collection, surveying of rare species, tree felling, and herbicide application.Experience using GPS and GIS to plot and track rare and protected plant species including Eastern Prairie Fringed Orchid (Platanthera leucophaea), and Northern Monkshood (Aconitum noveboracense).
