As a mental health crisis worker, I assist and advise people who are going through a mental health crisis. I acknowledge a visitor's crisis, support them through their emotions and signpost them to different groups and organisations that can further assist with their recovery. I ensure a positive working relationship and good rapport with visitors by adopting a pragmatic and non-judgemental approach.

My role as a Diversional Activities Coordinator is to offer occupational therapy groups to inpatients in an acute mental health unit. These groups include psychology sessions and diversional activities using evidence-based practice for patients to gain confidence and aid recovery. I assist service users in completing a therapy programme and offer individual 1:1s with patients who unable to engage in group therapy due to their level of acuity.My job consists of working collaboratively as part of a MDT to organise, lead and promote interest in diversional activities in an inclusive, stimulating and safe environment. I have to acknowledge group interests, evaluate equipment and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
