I work on a range of projects relating to evidence-based policy and practice to support children and families.I am currently Lead Systematic Reviewer for a NICE guideline on child abuse and neglect being developed by the NICE Collaborating Centre for Social Care, in which SCIE is a partner. This involves co-ordinating a small team of information specialists and reviewers to search and review the evidence base which will underpin the guideline. I also work with a range of stakeholders in the children's services sector, in particular a Guideline Development Group of service users, professionals and academics.I am also part of a team developing a multi-agency training programme on child neglect. This draws on systems approaches to professional practice, as well as scenario-based training, to support practitioners to broaden their understanding of neglect, and how to respond.

Interim leadership on a jobshare basis of SCIE's Learning Together programme - a programme of activity to improve multi-agency child protection practice through learning from case reviews and Serious Case Reviews. The role involved working with commissioners in Local Safeguarding Children Boards to organise reviews and training, co-ordinating a network of associates, supervising and quality assuring Learning Together reviews and activities to raise the profile of the programme, such as speaking at conferences and other events. During this time, I also played a lead role on a DfE-funded project to develop an innovative multi-agency course about working with child neglect.
