As a member of Love Your Melon at the University of Michigan I work with chapter members to coordinate donation of hats at Detroit Metro Area Children’s Hospital to children battling cancer. I was elected to Vice Captain in April, 2016 and promoted from Vice Captain to Captain in April, 2017.

As a summer intern, I shadowed Dr. Lawrence Vogel, chief of pediatrics and medical director of the spinal cord injury program. I attended rounds, participated in weekly patient team meetings and attended bi-weekly clinical assessments. In addition, I contributed to research for Dr. Vogel regarding whether the current BMI range for pediatric spinal cord injury patients should be recalibrated.
