Dr. Karl Erickson focuses on research on athlete development and coaching in youth sports. In the research study that I work under him in, we are looking at the influence of coaches behavior, interactions and interpersonal relationships on youths performance and psycho-social outcomes. As an undergraduate research assistant, I perform HTKS tasks and behavior questionnaires with youth and operate motion capture to investigate the effects of coaching on youth development through Detroit PALS programs. I also code, transcribe and analyze data for graduate research.

Individually designed a weekly developmental sports activity routine for a non-verbal 7-year-old female with cerebral palsy. Focused the routine on locomotor skills, object control skills, and rhythm and balance skills while also incorporating verbal rewards and positive feedback. Utilized American Sign Language to communicate.
