The control of all operations within the Hotel, including all operational and guest-related aspects, supervising and organising a team of 58 staff to ensure the high company standards expected are kept for up to 140 guests, including liaising with the childcare manager to ensure that all childcare operations including meal times are at the same high standard. Monitoring ordering, deliveries and guest sales to ensure that all financial targets and budgets are adhered to for the kitchen, bar, wine and housekeeping, along with banking and control of large sums of money. Maintaining strong relationships within the resort to liaise with other managers to ensure that operations are running smoothly on a resort level basis, especially for guest transfer days.

The overseeing of all day to day operations on a resort wide basis catering for up to 250 people, including food and beverage, childcare, waterfront and activities to create a guest experience to the highest possible standard. This includes dealing with finances and budgeting, local relations and language, and staff management for a team of 120 people.

The responsibility for all operations within the hotel to the highest standard, including the kitchen, bar and hotel, whilst maintaining a high level of guest service and satisfaction. There is a large range of skills required to do this job, including strong administrative and finance skills, the ability to liaise with head office, suppliers and other managers within the resort team, and strong team management, especially with seasonaires. The job required me to be highly organised, very self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills. During my time in this role I have taken this hotel from 18th in the company to 5th out of 24 hotels.

Hotelplan ventured into a new sector whilst I was in this job role, which meant that alongside the duties of an assistant manager as described below, that we were creating a new system for the company, as we were working with French sports clubs and teams as they came for their summer boot camps, to cater and provide for all their needs. During this time my French skills in speaking, listening and writing improved considerably, I was also responsible for the Front of House team and the day to day running of the hotel, including all meals, housekeeping and guest services, as well as a range of administrative duties including stock taking.
