Hello and welcome to my profile!I am doctor in the field of biomedicine and developmental genetics with 7 years of research experience, specialized in cancer research. So far, I studied and worked in Germany, Great Britain and Sweden. I am a curiosity-driven person, open to challenges and committed to the tasks I take on. My work, both as a PhD student and postdoctor, as well as my theses work throughout my studies have focused on the investigation of genetic causes for diseases, the mechanisms by which altered protein function can cause diseases as well as the detailed study of resulting phenotypes. It has always been important for me to see that my work has a purpose and might help other people in their life's struggle. My different research projects helped me to develop my ability to design, plan and conduct scientific experiments, to troubleshoot and optimize work processes as well as to analyze and evaluate data. Throughout my scientific career, I presented my own and other people's research at many occasions, not only to specialists in the field e.g. at conferences but also to a lay audience, and I enjoy communicating good science. Additionally, I enjoy working together with a motivated and focused team to meet common goals and deadlines. My colleagues would describe me as an outgoing person that both likes to learn from and also to share my knowledge with others.
