- Performed large-team-oriented trail conservation and maintenance efforts in a variety of weather conditions and elevations in the Aspen-Sopris Ranger District of Colorado, in partnership with the US Forest Service. - Lived and worked outdoors for 10 weeks with a crew of 12 people. Worked together to maintain a clean camp, maintain tools, and cook meals for the whole crew in a front-country and backcountry setting.- Worked 10-hour days four days at a time maintaining trails using a variety of hand tools including pick-mattocks, McLeods, pulaskis, rogue hoes, hand saws, rock bars, shovels, etc.- Learned the ins and outs of crosscut mechanics and cleared trees blocking the trail- Projects included installing rock checks, log checks, digging drains for water runoff, benching, closing social trails using natural materials, and trail delineation. - Learned and followed the principles of Leave No Trace.
