Having completed a 3 year 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training with the Inner Yoga Trust I now teach one class a week in Bristol.

Working on a freelance basis for Crown & Canopy, a leading UK glamping design, build and consultancy firm. I undertake various research and development, looking at industry statistics and figures for the annually updated Glamping Manual. I regularly create glamping consultancy reports, have developed a profit and revenue projection programme and assist with various other jobs such as admin, representing the firm at trade shows and developing presentations.

Initially working within the People & Wildlife team delivering practical and community engagement sessions for families and corporate groups. This role involved managing various projects including the development and creation of a sensory, wildlife garden in an MS Therapy Centre, working with the Rolls Royce Graduates Scheme. Current role is as Community Engagement Officer for the My Wild City Project, managing the engagement element of a 3 year Lottery funded project working on 8 Local Wildlife Sites in Bristol. This role involves working closely with many groups and individuals within the 8 communities, developing strong links, supporting and developing Friends of Groups, and providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get out and enjoy their local green spaces. The 5 pathways to nature connectedness is a strong theme throughout this project, and we are exploring how we can bring in creativity and the arts to bring a more holistic approach to engaging people with nature.

Project managing a three-year funded project on common land in Herefordshire. The role involved developing a ten-year management plan (consultation and working closely with local community and partners), securing funding, managing volunteers, habitat management, budgeting, organising events, media and presentations, monitoring and evaluation and regular reporting back to funders. During 2016 I attended an RSWT (Royal Society of Wildlife Trust’s) Leadership training course.

This seasonal period on the Torrisdale Estate focused on organising and overseeing the Walled Garden Project - managing full-time WWOOF volunteers and directing the clearance and planting of an orchard of 200 fruit trees and 200 soft fruits. Ongoing tasks included general estate maintenance, liaising with the Estate owner and local landowners, assisting with visitors and processing wood for the biomass boiler.An earlier seasonal role was extremely varied but consisted mainly of assisting with management and upkeep of the estate in general including woodlands, and six holiday cottages. I acted as wildlife ranger and carried out a tree planting scheme in which guests plant a tree as part of a carbon offsetting scheme. Tasks included preparation of the estate for the Green Tourism Business Scheme Award Inspection, managing occasional volunteers, networking and corresponding with local landowners.

Two winter periods spent assisting Sir Charles Burrell and the Estate Manager with various wildland projects including, GIS, report writing, website content, correspondence, HLS funding, minute taking, social networking, monitoring and public rights of way.The first work period involved:Assisting the manager and the owner with amongst other things, writing an application for a wetland award, assessing Public Rights of Way on the estate, representing Knepp at a Wetland Conference, liaising with GIS technicians and the set up and data input to an internal GIS system.

On and off work over a few years - constructing one-off furniture and museum pieces for an award winning design studio.
