As a CYC intern in the kindergarten classroom my primary role was to build strong relationships with each child and assess and meet their individual needs. I did this by establishing plans for children who were frequently dysregulated, this included creating SMART goals and assisting children with breaks when necessary. In addition, I facilitated therapeutic modalities such as DIR FloorTime, storytelling, and outdoor activities.

Facilitated intentional programs that foster leadership skills in children and followed the framework of Moorelands core values and mission statement. This was done by: creating a supportive and welcoming learning environment, integrating program leadership values into programming, utilizing program leadership values during behaviour management by teaching the child/youth how to have the positive qualities outlined by Moorelands as an outcome.

While employed at the Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes I was responsible for creating and implementing intentional programming to meet the behavioural needs and interests for children aged 4 - 12. Active supervision of the children was required in a ratio of 1:15. I was responsible for after school programming, summer camp programming, PA day programming, birthday party/rental programming and supervision and facilitation of the facilities rockwall.
