Overall responsibility and management of Ealing Mencap’s Travel Training and Travel Buddy projects, including direct line management of Hillingdon and Hounslow Travel Training Coordinators, Travel Buddy project lead, Positive About Independence project lead and all Ealing Travel Training staff (7 FTE). Management of budgets for all travel training projects. Responsibility for the quality, effectiveness and safety of all Travel Training placements by ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place. Responsibility for monitoring and reporting on all project outcomes, and ensuring that targets are met. Working with families, schools, local authorities and other agencies to promote and develop a positive culture of safe independent travel and leading teams to creatively develop and expand the projects.

Working within Auckland Council's unique governance model to provide strategic and operational advice and support to three of Auckland's twenty-one Local Boards on consultation activities and on-going engagement with their communities.

Providing dedicated administrative support to the Chair and Local Board Members. Developing relationships with key stakeholders and community groups. Supporting engagement activities in the Local Board area on key Council plans. Communicating with individuals, community groups and key stakeholders through social media, written correspondence and face-to-face meetings

Member of the local government team providing services to 850,000 trade union members working for councils in the UK. Lead officer for the union’s ‘love your libraries’ campaign, bringing library members, professional bodies and user-led campaigning groups together, most notably in a lobby of Parliament (March 2012). Supporting and advising on a number of service delivery areas including procurement and co-operative working as well as coordinating research and surveys of members on key issues.

Acting as the lead for equalities issues in the adult social care department whilst managing the Interpreting & Translation service (4 FTE staff), maintaining an overview of national, regional & local policy themes, coordinating the development of new policies and strategies and coordinating and supporting the statutory Learning Disabilities Partnership Board.

Providing policy, research, information and advice to the Scrutiny and Equalities service, supporting groups and community forums,(including the Interfaith Forum, the Diversity and Equality Network, the Disabled Staff Forum and the Disabled Access Group), organising internal & external events to promote equalities and inform policy development, and liaising with colleagues in departments and partner organisations on equalities and joint-working initiatives

Responsible for servicing a range of formal meetings of the Council, including planning, licensing and scrutiny committees.
