I am passionate about addressing the root causes of food insecurity and health disparities, and advocating for systemic and sustainable solutions.As a Food Access Director at Sustainable Food Center, I lead a team of 12 dedicated professionals who work to improve the availability, affordability, and quality of healthy food for communities facing systemic barriers to food security and health. I have 10 years of experience in program management and evaluation, grant writing, and community engagement in the fields of nutrition and food security. As a Clinical Assistant Professor/Dietetic Internship Director at Texas State University, I mentored graduate students, taught nutrition courses, conducted research on health equity and food security. I was the co-founder of the Bobcat Bounty Food Pantry and co-director of the Food Security Learning Community. I am committed to advancing the diversity and cultural humility of the dietetics profession.
