At the start of my college career in 2012, I had already obtained my Private Pilot's Certificate through The Academy @ Shawnee in Louisville, Kentucky. From there I headed to Eastern Kentucky University to pursue a career as a Professional Pilot. In 2013, I decided to change directions and transfer to The Art Institute of Tennessee - Nashville. I gained priceless hands-on experience utilizing a state of the art Recording Studio. It was here I discovered a passion for Audio Electronics and Soldering. After two years of the amazing Audio Engineering and Music Production program, financial struggles prompted me to return to my home state of Indiana.I moved to Bloomington, and immediately began the Electrical Engineering Technology program at Ivy Tech Community College. Here I was able to combine my Critical Thinking skills from an Aviation background with my natural Creativity to create a unique experience as I studied both Analog and Digital Circuit Theory and Application. At Ivy Tech, I worked as a Supplemental Instructor, assisting my professor in teaching, tutoring, and lab work. I gave multiple guest lectures, led students through study sessions, and maintained an organized and safe lab environment. While juggling my own course work and two part-time jobs, I was able to help create the Maker's Club, designed to allow students to use their engineering skills in a creative and artistic way. I also spent many hours volunteering on and off campus. I gave tours of the lab to prospective students, helped lead two Guitar Building workshops, gave lab demonstrations at STEM sponsored events. My final semester at Ivy Tech was spent as an intern at WFHB Bloomington Community Radio Station. Here I worked as an Audio Engineer for a weekly live music show, helped Troubleshoot and Repair audio equipment, worked to develop Acoustic Treatment for the studio space, and mixed several tracks for their yearly Local LIVE! Album.
