A self-proclaimed grammar snob, I have been labelled an unyielding etymologist on more than one occasion, and consider it the highest of compliments.The aspect of architecture which I have always found the most fascinating is the people. I consider it imperative to include and consider the user throughout the entire design process. In essence, collaboration is key. It is my belief that good design has the power to shape and change the world in order to ultimately make it better for its inhabitants. Furthermore, I am a staunch supporter of low-tech, passive green methods as the most sustainable approach for creating an architecture of the future. Having spent fifteen months studying abroad in Vienna, Austria, and Stuttgart, Germany, left me with an insatiable wanderlust and desire for adventure. I returned from my studies with a healthy respect for German engineering and a talent for holding Oktoberfest-sized beer steins. Aside from travelling and silently correcting your grammar in my head, some of my favorite pastimes include reading the dictionary (or any other book I can get my hands on), sketching & hand-lettering, completing crossword puzzles in pen, camping and hiking in the majestic Pacific Northwest, singing, cycling, yoga, and encouraging my friends and family to expand their palates by trying new sour beers. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Professional Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas in 2014, and am currently working toward licensure.
