About Hannah Covington
I'm an Oklahoma-based journalist and educator interested in stories of displacement, belonging and shifting senses of identity for everyday people. I currently work at The News Literacy Project, where I draw from my experience in the newsroom and classroom to help students and adults separate fact from fiction online. I previously covered local government and breaking news for the Star Tribune in marvelous Minneapolis. Once upon a time, I studied literature and used the Oxford comma, skills that come in handy in my role as a college writing instructor. In the classroom, I anchor my teaching in information literacy and train students to think like reporters as they navigate today's media landscape.
