Gaining research and experimental design experience by performing a high throughput drug screening platform on sarcoma patient organoid samples. Also working to expand this platform to include radiation treatment and helped to improve and utilize a newly automated H&E staining protocol with HistoEnder.

Coordinate the Summer Mentorship Program for 100 current student mentors and 200 incoming women and nonbinary admits to UCLA's Samueli Engineering School. Working to create an alumni/graduate student mentor program for current undergraduate students to help inform their career paths and offer a source of guidance.

Lead Outreach Committee to coordinate events including WOW That's Engineering Day, Project Scientist, and Women in Engineering Stayover Program (WESP). Learned to communicate with external organizations/companies, apply for funding, room booking, material ordering, delegate tasks, and host weekly team meetings.

Encourage and support elementary through high school students to become and stay involved in STEM fields. Help to organize WOW! That's Engineering Day and Project Scientist which work with 50-100 younger kids to give insight into what being an engineer is like by hosting fun science activities, informational activities, informational panels, and club fairs. Assisted with the Women Stayover Program (WESP) for 60 prospective engineering students to get a taste of what being a UCLA engineer is all about.

Developing an understanding of large-scale manufacturing processes and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) within the biotech industry. Specifically, by updating manufacturing documents using Good Document Practice (GDocP) to ensure and improve quality of products. Working with team lower process deviations and improve efficiency using continuous improvement.

Worked in both the Advanced Light Microscopy and Spectroscopy (ALMS) and Nano and Pico Characterization (NPC) Lab to gain general laboratory experience. Learned the fundamentals of what keeps a lab functioning including: inventory management, chemical and biohazard handling and disposal, cleaning, and lab organization. Assisted with managing zebrafish breeding, tracking fish lines, and egg collection for experimental purposes. Performed microwave digestion and preparation of various client samples for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

Underwent a series of modules and lab activities to learn and apply fundamentals of wet-lab research. Labs included cell culture, western blots, PCR, and basic Matlab programming. Completed a final independent research project on the effect of hydrogel stiffness of U87 cell proliferation in vitro and presented to students, faculty, and UCLA staff at Demo Day.

Managed sales floor inventory, display presentation, backroom organization, while greeting customers, and jumping in wherever needed. Worked with a variety of team members to average a store daily sales total of $200K.

Introduced to fundamental engineering concepts including the design process, circuitry, microcontrollers, coding, soldering, 3D CAD, and PCB design. Built a working pulse oximeter using Arduino with a PCB and CAD schematic.

Interned on site to assist with adding heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to Longfellow Elementary School. Helped to monitor project progress and maintain communication with contractors by performing daily walk site walk-throughs and check-ins. Also worked to organize files and documents using Bluebeam, enter data into Excel, and update team-members through email and phone calls.
