My life experiences are the sum total of all my passions: storytelling, creation, motherhood, mentorship and refugee advocacy. I've traveled the world with a camera making award-winning documentaries; served in a refugee camp in Greece; competed on a reality show - On the Lot- searching for America's next big film director; adapted the novel Kaffir Boy into a screenplay; worked as a creative director for brands such as SAS, IBM, Spectrum Enterprise, GE, RTI International, and now at Hamza Creative Group. I get asked all of the time how did I go from filmmaking to marketing? Well, I love a challenge and creative collaboration across disciplines. Working as a creative director has allowed me to be involved in ALL things creative – strategic content planning, shaping concepts, creatively solving client challenges, molding stories, pushing design and, of course, collaborating with a super talented multidisciplinary team. Working in a content marketing agency and at a non-profit, I've sharpened my storytelling chops to be able to blur the lines between “traditional” marketing stories and infusing my film background to become a brand ambassador who strives to tell bigger, bolder, braver brand stories that engages an audience across any medium. “The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: artists, inventors, storytellers-creative and holistic ‘right-brain’ thinkers.” - Daniel Pink, Author.
