I am currently a student serving as Editor-in-Chief for Kaleidoscope, a literary magazine club, and Managing Editor for Tiger Times Online, the online school newspaper. With four years of experience as a writer and editor in literary groups both inside and outside of school, I was able to develop a clear understanding of the writing publication process and am committed to creating an authentic yet polished environment for platforming student creativity.I have published short stories and poems under platforms such as TeenInk and spent over 70 hours on journalism-related projects, including research papers on data ethics online. As I have always been a natural storyteller, I aspire to captivate readers with anything from short stories to essays. My writing has been recognized through awards such as the Excellence award for the Miracle Diversity Awards (Literature Division).Having been told that I am an empathetic listener, I co-founded Farawell, a project focused on pet loss syndrome in Korea. I created campaigns and events that gave attendees a space to grieve and understand such loss, strengthening my commitment of promoting differing perspectives and calling attention to issues that may be overlooked.I am also proficient in several creative mediums, including writing, drawing, graphic design, and playing instruments. I have played the oboe for seven years, performing and winning in four competitions including the Seoul International Music Competition (High School Division). I was further honored to create a new design for my school’s 'Tiger Values’ and became a finalist for the KORCOS Conference Logo Contest. I find that my imagination thrives best during the night, and I often sketch out or doodle ideas to organize my thoughts and come up with new insights. I also enjoy diving into informational rabbit holes, exploring topics ranging from new scientific discoveries to niche indie movies.
