For example, I worked closely with various areas of the business and all levels of management to produce consumer-facing and adviser-facing literature as part of a strategy to defend onshore bond sales. I worked closely with the Financial Promotions Compliance team to ensure all adviser-facing and consumer-facing literature was compliant with the then-FSA regulations. I also worked with external marketing agencies, which involved briefing and managing agency contacts to make sure work was delivered to brief, on time and within budget. My role entailed management of team budget.

I was responsible for supplying the words and verbal content for clients’ marketing campaigns. As an account manager, I took briefs directly from clients. I then managed in-house designers and fellow copywriters to ensure work was delivered on time and in accordance with each brief. I supported the agency’s new business strategy by writing content for the quarterly e-bulletin.

I planned press campaigns for clients wanting to advertise in the UK and abroad. This involved taking briefs from clients and liaising with media sales houses. I was responsible for the compilation and submission of schedules to a Dutch television broadcaster on a weekly basis. The schedules described the long-form airtime requirements of multiple clients. I had a three-day window to coordinate and finalise the schedules, comprising up to 10 hours’ airtime. My role also involved: researching new advertising concepts and presenting them to clients; researching and ghost writing articles for US magazine Electronic Retailer; and the ongoing daily analysis of clients’ campaigns.
