My role with the UC GFI is to create a year long project to address a sustainability issue on the UCSB campus. I chose to work on the nutrition, affordability, and sustainability of the food options on campus to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the public. This position requires a great deal of collaboration with UCSB staff and an understanding of current policies and contracts existing. An emphasis of my work is student involvement and opinion on how they see their university's food system.

I am currently working on editing a survey on food justice and public health issues on the UCSB campus along with a team of other students. Further, I am writing an ethnography on my food experience on campus for a public engagement piece.

My research involved surveying the UCSB campus with a team of students for potentially edible species and assess the usage of documented plants. I collaborated with team members on spreading edible plant knowledge on the UCSB campus through mapping systems and publishing the information.

I compiled the data and wrote a portion of the UN Pesticide Report. My area focused on environmental pollution's interaction with environmental justice factors. Also, I assembled the academic citations for the report.
