Project titled ‘The production and testing of monoclonal antibodies to salivary proteins derived from Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes scapularis ticks'.Hybridised B cell myelomas with murine spleen cells to create highly specific monoclonal antibody producing cells. Purification and titre testing of mAbs produced.Skilled in cell isolation and subsequent culture. Experienced with murine CD4 T cells, Sp2/0-Ag 14 myeloma cell line, specific antibody producing hybridomas, murine bone marrow mast cells and murine spleenocytes.Delivered an ELISA laboratory practical and lecture to BSc level students.Worked using aseptic technique and able to assess where aseptic technique is appropriate.Competent in harvesting murine cells and organs, TVC counts, use of pH meters, plate readers, centrifuges and microscopes.
