I am currently an Assistant Professor of Biology at Adelphi University where I am highly involved with the recently created Neuroscience major. My research focuses on the role of lncRNA in predisposition to substance use disorders.I was previously a postdoctoral research associate at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Dr. Schahram Akbarian's lab. My work focuses on how RNA interacts with chromatin to influence gene expression and how this phenomenon is altered in psychiatric disorders.I received my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I did my thesis work in Dr. Eric J. Nestler's lab, where I studied the molecular and epigenetic underpinnings of addiction and depression phenotypes in animal models.
