I advance the collective research-driven knowledge of the organization through the creation and maintenance of processes that ensure that research learnings are efficiently socialized, and serve as chief sense-maker and research interpreter to maximize the impact of research application across all departments.

I managed the organization's research knowledge in order to socialize learnings internally, filled in knowledge gaps, and supported the flow of research. I worked with the data and research team to conduct research on the best messages and program strategies for understanding the needs of and the social/cultural barriers impacting Galvanize USA’s target audience and connecting with them as trusted messengers in order to create long-term culture change.

I assisted the Executive Director with a variety of tasks as the start-up got up and running. My responsibilities included conducting research on white women voters, assisting with organizational strategic planning activities, initial program development, administrative and development support, and acting as a second pair of eyes on reports and proposals.

I worked with the data and research team to design and implement mixed-method research strategies that support the organization's mission.

The Northwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety (NWCOHS) is a multidisciplinary training program, funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, dedicated to training professionals in the prevention of work-related injury and illness. The Center provides academic training and professional education and research services to employers, workers, and health and safety professionals in Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon.As manager, I served as Center policy gatekeeper and liaison between program faculty, students, and NIOSH. This included coordinating grant activities for six academic programs, continuing education, outreach, and interdisciplinary events. I also directed evaluation and reporting efforts, including award establishment and progress reports.

I coordinated logistics for multiple community-engaged research studies in the UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. A primary study I managed was a partnership with local union carpenters, pipe trades, and sheet metal workers that evaluated the effects of gender and work and non-work stressors on trades worker's health using survey data and biomarkers of stress. For three years I directed the "Safety and Health Empowerment for Women in Trades (SHEWT)" study, aimed at reducing tradeswomen's risk of workplace health and safety hazards through research and program development. The study used focus groups and questionnaires to investigate the nature, range and extent of physical and psychosocial risks experienced by women working in the trades throughout Washington state. Based on the research, we developed and evaluated a pilot mentorship program to empower women apprentices in western Washington to recognize their workplace stressors and advocate for safer workplaces. I also coordinated the university's role in curriculum development for a collaboration with the Fair Work Center on the "Reaching the Hard to Reach" project. This project trained leaders from community-based organizations to deliver health and safety workshops to low-wage workers in WA State.As Research Coordinator, my responsibilities included: grant writing and reporting; being a liaison between the university and community partners; handling IRB applications; developing study protocols; coordinating recruitment efforts; contributing to design and implementation of survey instruments; data analysis; and dissemination of study findings through presentations and publications.

As part of a research team, I coded and analyzed qualitative data taken from over 150 national interviews on American’s perceptions of type II diabetes and genetics. I also served as first author on a qualitative paper exploring the ways in which people who are at high risk for type II diabetes conceptualize and articulate their causal beliefs.

Earned Master of Public Health degree in Health Behavior and Health Education

I facilitated workshops on sexual health and healthy relationships for undergraduate students. I also helped coordinate logistics and evaluate outcome for an annual sexual health conference held at the university.

I assisted the Project Director in completion of all activities related to the sustainability of Stories For Hope Rwanda. This included helping draft the annual report and supervising volunteer researchers in qualitative and quantitative data analyses of participant stories.

Worked with three Detroit community partner agencies (Alternatives For Girls, Ruth Ellis Center, and Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation) to support multiple aspects of the communications phase of the community-based collaborative research project. This included assisting with Social Enterprise Summit planning, data analysis, facilitating focus groups, and developing plans for a social enterprise employment opportunity.

I conducted research, including literature reviews, analysis of government data sources, and creation of policy briefs for the Almanac of Family Homelessness in America. I also co-presented and attended national conferences on child and family homelessness and convened with government agencies, nonprofits, and shelter providers to discuss state and local homelessness planning strategies. I worked both independently and as part of a small team to develop and edit reports on state initiatives to end family homelessness.As a Research Associate, I conducted research for the National Survey of Programs and Services for Homeless Families.

I conducted legal research and assisted attorneys with filing complaints and preparing for depositions.

I handled the Mentoring and Ambassador programs.

I worked as Production Assistant for multiple productions of 'Shakespeare in the Arb' at Nichols Arboretum. My work included training and supervising volunteer ushers, managing performance logistics, and serving as liaison for Arb staff and actors.

I ran the front desk and gift shop and served as the public's point-of-contact with the Matthaei Botanical Gardens. As Assistant Event Coordinator, I helped manage rehearsal and day-of logistics for weddings at the Gardens.
