Foster and promote an equitable hiring process for the UBC BEST design team by providing mentorship, technical workshops, and career development opportunities for engineering student minorities or those who may not have had access to opportunities in high school. Hire mentees from a pool of over 100 applicants by creating application packages, screening applications, and conducting interviews.

Researched and used PLINK functions – a command line program for genome data management – to sort CASMAP data of single nucleotide polymorphisms.Supplemented our team’s literature review with summaries and data from 15 studies regarding polyphenol extraction and treating type 2 diabetes with polyphenols.

Created, implemented, and documented a risk-based project scoring, prioritization, and budget allocation system for engineering projects under $250,000 CAD. Conducted stakeholder consultations and pitched the scoring system to senior management; the process was adopted for budget year 2023 onward, increasing the number of solid and liquid waste management projects completed yearly to serve Metro Vancouver’s 2.8 million residents. Assisted in the migration and records management of over 5,000 files during a reorganization.

Fostered and promoted an interest in UBC Engineering in minorities through highlighting diversity in YouTube videos surrounding my experience as a student.Creatively incorporated UBC Engineering topics in TikTok trends increasing video views by 820% in the last 28 days on the engstories TikTok account.
