I am an Organisational Psychologist at BAE. I have previously worked in various functions at both Mars and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and have a Masters (BPS accredited) in Psychology from the University of Nottingham.I am close to completing a Doctoral Degree at Lancaster University in Management & Organisational Behaviour. My PhD research seeks to understand how contemporary work has become increasingly interested in developing the internal characteristics of workers (their 'personal' or 'self' development), as opposed to purely physical/tangible skills (their 'functional' development). In my research I explore the conditions that make such work possible and normalised, and conduct an empirical analysis of how individuals (responsible for very different types of work) react to and are affected by these activities of self-improvement in work.I am an Editorial Board Member for the journal of 'Research Into Ethical Issues In Organisations' and have reviewed papers for both Business Ethics and Psychology. I have attended a number of conferences over 2023-2024 presenting papers on my Doctoral research including: PHILOS, Organizational Studies and Philosophy of Management. I am also a qualified Associate Fellow of Higher Education (AFHEA) and a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA).
