Developing a novel point of care rapid diagnostic for Covid19 and Influenza A & B using recombinant DNA technology.Expressed novel BioSwitches in CHO cells and subsequently, performed tangential flow filtration and purified them using affinity chromatography. Worked as part of a dynamic team, including the Murphy group in the School of Medicine, and the McKernan group in the School of Physis and our Funders Revlar to achieve project goals and to assess our progress. Gained project management experience using Mind Manager to coordinate, plan, monitor and asses the project achievements and goals both within the team and with collaborators. Volunteered in outreach programs including the Conway Institute Transition Year activity week, designing suitable practicals, and informing students on scientific careers. Participated in the Conway Festival Conference as a Judge on the Oral presentations.

Development of a novel therapeutic for the treatment of haemophilia for which a patent has been filled. Won the RCSI innovation award 2019.Recombinantly expressed a novel drug substance for the treatment of haemophilia in HEK293 cells and E.coli, which I purified, formulated and validated. Utilised phage display technology to identify novel antibody fragments, against the drug target. Motivated self-starter who balanced a high workload to complete my PhD lab work by the deadline with lab access restrictions in place due to the Covid pandemic. Designed and executed independent experiments and carried out subsequent data analysis used for the filing of a patent for a novel therapeutic for the treatment of haemophilia. Researched and developed solutions to overcome problems encountered, by independent reading, communicating effectivity with colleagues and my PI and learning new skills. Learned to critically asses and evaluate data through journal presentation with peers at Irish Centre for Vascular Biology biweekly meetings.
