I lead the communications team for a federal contractor to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our team focuses on VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System's initiatives to end Veteran homelessness and transform the historic West Los Angeles VA Medical Center campus into a first-of-its-kind community of and for Veterans. I serve as a SME and guide all aspects of communications development and dissemination including strategic plans, press releases and RTQs, graphic design and brand standards, video production, executive communications, social media content creation, and editorial planning among other efforts.

I served as a communications expert for a federal contractor to the Department of Veterans Affairs, specializing in comms strategy, content creation and dissemination. I responded to media inquiries, interviewed SMEs and wrote short and long form pieces, crafted social media content, managed content via a CMS, met and developed relationships with stakeholders, supported the development and implementation of outreach strategies, compiled and analyzed data and reviewed/edited the work of others for quality and accuracy, among other tasks.

I served as the point of contact for all public relations and communications efforts for this leading non-profit advocacy organization. I helped to provide creative authority for the brand, created and disseminated educational materials, managed events and fundraising opportunities, formed relationships with media, wrote and distributed press releases, spearheaded all social media and recruited and managed volunteers.

I pitched and wrote entertainment, sports and news features, helped to strategize and implement projects to increase web traffic, produced and edited photos, multimedia and content using AP style, managed and reported on breaking news, hosted on-air promos for site features, created an entertainment featurette, "Dallas After Dark", monitored and reported on site statistics and helped to educate reporters and staffers on web functionality and utilization.
