I studied Business & Management at Barnsley College which included a range of different modules. I finished and completed with a grade Distrinction*Distinction*Distinction*.After completing my course, I was then on the hunt for jobs, one of my old tutors had recommended that the department of Student Services were on the look out for a level 2 apprentice, I decided to go for the job as it sounded like something up my street! The team were so friendly, and my day to day tasks included helping staff members with their daily admin tasks, setting up events, speaking to externals, and helping arrange enrichment activities for students in tutorial time.After completing my apprenticeship with the Learner Voice team, I then moved on to the Student Funding team who were offering an apprenticeship for level 3. I really enjoyed working in this team, and gained close relationships with all staff members in the team. Day to day tasks included downloading and logging Learner Support Fund applications, speaking to students and staff about support, answering emails and telephone queries in regards to LSF, obtaining a budget for stationery for the department. After 12 months, I was fortunate to secure a full time permanent job in the Student Funding team. I started in this role in 2018, my daily tasks include processing LSF application forms, adding and managing applications onto the relevant budget streamlines, processing and raising purchase orders for student kits, making payments to students on LSF, providing customer service to students on a front facing reception desk by answering queries in regards to LSF.I have just completed my level 4 NVQ diploma as Business Professional, which I am extremely proud of.
