I work on the Mobility Innovations Team to advance transportation electrification and decarbonization efforts citywide to achieve our Climate Emergency Declaration carbon emission reduction goals through managing programs and projects, updating city code to seamlessly integrate and leverage new technologies, and identifying and pursuing new programmatic and funding opportunities. This includes seeking and developing applications for new funding opportunities as well as supporting existing projects, including the US DOT SMART grant to pilot the country's first regulated Zero-Emission Delivery Zone and the US DOE Park & Charge grant to expand the network of convenient, affordable and reliable public curbside EV chargers. I am dedicated to finding new opportunities to test innovative decarbonization strategies through grants and pilot projects and to develop the policy basis and accompanying streamlined permitting process to ensure that new technology is integrated into our existing systems.

Ensuring an equitable transition to transportation electrification is a crucial part of citywide decarbonization efforts. To support this, I led the translation of policy concepts into City Code and Administrative Rules for the Electric Vehicle Charging in the Public Right-of-Way policy and successfully had City Code updates adopted by Portland City Council and Administrative Rules updated by the PBOT Director, after the appropriate internal reviews and public involvement process. I also supported the development of multiple grant proposals, including the following successful awards: A US Department of Energy grant for $3.5M to conduct community engagement and install pole-mounted EV chargers and a US Department of Transportation SMART grant for $2M to pilot the country's first regulated Zero-Emission Delivery Zone and test digital infrastructure tools. I also supported the city's e-scooter program, private for-hire transportation program, and carshare program as needed.

As a project manager and researcher, I helped organizations prioritize policy initiatives through estimating GHG reduction potential of various actions and understanding the climate impacts on transportation systems and urban infrastructure in their region.

I helped the BID implement and expand programs with a sustainability and new mobility focus. This included reinstating the community compost program and expanding it to include the use of compostable goods and collection of compost at regular neighborhood events, leading the implementation of an e-scooter docking program with SPIN, and conducting studies including an update to the Transportation Demand Management plan and a new Curbside Management plan that would help the BID utilize new technology to achieve transportation, mode shift, and sustainability goals.

I founded The Green Fix to investigate and report on sustainable solutions for the current problems facing our society.

I conducted research on increasing the recycling potential of various hard to recycle plastics and supported ESG reporting.
