Led end-to-end research projects focused on trust, safety and privacy and spanning Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Facebook. Designed and executed concurrent research studies, leveraging qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, diary studies, surveys, usability testing, and behavioral analysis to uncover insights into user behaviors, attitudes, and needs related to trust and integrity. Served as an advocate and collaborated closely with cross-functional partners, including product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists, to integrate research findings into product development processes. Analyzed and synthesized research findings from multiple sources to identify patterns, trends, and pain points and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders. Highlights:- Embedded on 4 Product Teams and partnered with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to lead research across the product life cycle.- Developed a global tracking survey to measure user perceptions of safety on Messenger. Ran concurrent surveys across the globe, overseeing translation to 48 languages.- Socialized survey and data. Crafted a single stat that became org's north star metric. - Led phased research on teen safety, the results of which informed a new strategy, mission and approach for an existing team.- Supported 60 new UXRs during onboarding and served as a mentor for 12 Individual Contributors (IC). - Conducted global Qualitative research, including in the Philippines, India, U.S., Mexico, and Europe.- Researched an emerging integrity problem quickly and hosted a 50-person workshop with STOs from four apps to socialize learnings and identify near and long-term solutions. Conducted foundational, tactical, and evaluative research to support the efforts of several product teams. Collaborated across functions ranging from meeting leaders and recipe developers to engineers, designers, and product managers to identify research questions and socialize learnings. Partnered with the marketing team to create employee awareness and empathy for WW members, including regularly featuring member videos during company all-hands. The results of this generative research, surveys, and randomized evaluations directly influenced myWW program and increased paid subscriber retention significantly.- Democratized research by training designers in usability testing methods, and stood up the process, templates, and onboarding for the Design team.- Conducted ethnographic research in the US and the UK to identify pain points and unmet needs for WW members, socialized findings, and crafted concepts - resulting in a core App product still featured today. - Recipient of the WW Jean Nidetch Award (2020); and selected as a key speaker for a company-wide strategy event at the NYC Lincoln Center.

Hired, developed, and managed a team of 8 UX Generalists located in NYC and Washington D.C., focused on research, design, and project management. Conducted foundational research, designed and implemented solutions, and planned and executed randomized trials for clients in 7 countries (Uganda, Nepal, India, Kenya, Bolivia, Venezuela, U.S.). Crafted training, templates, and protocols used across the company to ensure ethical, clinical, and academic standards were upheld for all research. Developed and maintained relationships with clients and funding partners through regular meetings and occasional intensives. Partnered to establish and manage the consultancy’s global health portfolio, and secured funding for new global health projects. Highlights:- #15 employee and key stakeholder contributing to expanding 6x growth in the global health portfolio. - Led a partnership to design, implement, and test localized solutions to improve women's health outcomes in Nepal. The project culminated in a six-month randomized trial with 30,000 clients across 36 health centers that led to a 30% increase in the uptake of women's health products.- Oversaw the application of a digital sobriety product in a domestic violence prevention trial in Bangalore, India, including partnering with academics, developing study and program SOPs, obtaining IRB approval, and implementing. - Appeared on PBS NewsHour special on behavioral nudges and technology (2015).

Developed the health promotion and extension worker programs for a five-year study on water, sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition interventions; funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Highlights:- Managed 4 PMs (and 25 Field officers) who conducted iterative research and improved tools.- Selected, trained, and monitored 1,500 health workers delivering products to 15k families across Kenya.

Worked on various projects for The Water Institute at UNC under Dr. Jamie Bartram. Example projects included creating institutional profiles for US-based organizations working in the WASH sector for use by US embassies and the US State Department and assisting with a World Bank project to analyze treatability of water from three sources in Lebanon.

Conducted surveys with policy makers and practitioners working in the water sectors in Cambodia, Colombia, Ghana, India, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Mozambique, Peru and South Africa. Applied a framework on risk perception to the WASH sector to increase understanding of decision-maker perceptions on the linkage between drinking water and health. Compared priorities and perspectives across stakeholder groups and intra-country clusters.
