Like most good career stories, mine hasn’t been the straightest path. I’ll take you back to the beginning where it took an Eat, Pray, Pizza moment in Italy to find my true calling, content marketing.Returning to Australia, I landed a foot in the door at Tourism Queensland with a ten day internship. Ten days turned into four years and an insatiable appetite for helping tourism operators market their product, tour or event.It took a short stint back in the private sector to give me the ‘push’ to start my own business, Media Mortar, where I could focus on the content work that I’m so passionate about.At Media Mortar, we deliver words, images and videos to brands, and help them share their story. We tell stories. No, we sell stories. We are storysellers. As a content marketer, I am truly passionate that stories drive sales. And in the tourism landscape, I believe that when you can’t compete on price, you MUST compete on story.That’s where we come in - helping tourism brands create content marketing strategies and plans that tell their story, and ultimately, drive sales.I’ll hop off my soapbox now.
