Associate Director Clinical Strategy & Innovation - J&J Global Public Health R&D
GPH R&D programs tackle diseases for which the patients are primarily living in low- and middle-income countries. Executing trials in resource-limited settings (RLS) are subject to increased risks and challenges compared to running these trials in Western world. The GPH R&D Capacity Development Group (CDG) addresses and mitigates these increased risks using a multipronged approach. In my role, I supported the CDG team in strategy development and portfolio alignment and management, managing the major initiatives, coordinating and leading the grant writing for a key initiative - which resulted in obtaining the 1M EUR grant, managing the key projects, creating and managing communication tools and materials, managing the budget, following up on G&Os, and being the POC for related functions (communications, PMO, and finance).

Phd Researcher (Neuroscience): Iwt Baekeland Fellow (Uantwerp, Icometrix, Adx Neurosciences)
As a PhD researcher I contributed to the field of biomarker-based diagnosis and prognosis for Alzheimer's disease. After I acquired an IWT Baekeland fellowship in October 2014 I started managing a 4-year multidisciplinary and collaborative project with industry and academic partners. During the time of the project I was an employee of icometrix and external employee of ADx NeuroSciences and theUniversity of Antwerp. I performed all the steps of the study, from interacting with the 3 collaboratinghospitals, recruiting over 150 patients and healthy controls, designing study outlines, performing quality control of data and (statistical) data analyses, being responsible for time- and data management, reporting study results (4 oral, of which 1 invited, and 10 poster presentations and 4 first-author publications), and bridging communication between different stakeholders. Besides this dedicated project, I also supervised data management of over 25+ national and European collaborations (resulting in 28 publications and 44 conference abstracts), coordinated clinical investigations at hospitals, coordinated lab work (ELISAs), adapted standard operating procedures (SOPs) according to new European guidelines and implemented them in daily lab routine, and supervised 5 students during internships.
