In 2008 I started playing online poker full time. Poker had already been a major interest and hobby for several years, which I earned an extra income from, in addition to jobs and studies. The first two years I spent building a knowledge base and a capital to be able to take the step up to the higher stakes. Money management was a concept I worked very close to - to allow myself to play on stakes where big downswings and setbacks would not make any major impact on my life. Being able to work rationally and focused without fluctuations in results that would affect me emotionally was very important. After four years, I reached the goals I set at an early stage, noted my best year and stood at the peak of my career. Living as a professional online poker player can be a very individualistic and lonely profession, but over the years I managed to create a large network and I worked closely with other players who partly were colleagues, but I have also acted as a mentor and coach. Without my determination, drive to achieve results and patience to build something from scratch, my 12 years as a professional player would not have been possible.
