Born and bred in the Free State, I studied accounting and obtained a B.Compt.Hons degree & CTA in 1997. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2001, following the successful completion of my articles. In 2002 my wife and I relocated to Centurion, and I took-up the role as Head of Finance for Momentum Distribution Services (MDS). I was part of the Momentum team that acquired Sage Life in 2005 and was intimately involved in the establishment of Momentum Financial Planning back then. I joined Momentum Wealth in 2009 as Chief Financial Officer for both the South African and Guernsey businesses (Momentum Wealth & Wealth International). The Momentum Consult opportunity came along towards the end of 2013 and I was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the business in February 2014. The Consult team and I grew the business over the past 10 years from a small FSP with 15 advisers and R2bn of assets under advice to a 400 strong adviser business with over R42bn assets under advice.
