Hannes Zietsman is a Senior Engineer with a broad range of experience in maritime engineering, mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), embedded software design, electronics, and electrical engineering to business development. With a B-degree in Engineering (Mechatronics) from the University of Stellenbosch and a Cape Technikon diploma in Electronic Engineering, Hannes has a wide educational background. Hannes is currently employed at C.S.I.R – D.P.S.S - T.S.O, where he oversees the development and manufacturing of projects and sub-projects for the Special Forces and SA-Navy. In addition, Hannes also manages the IT and software requirements for the TSO-Stellenbosch campus. Previously, he worked as a Project Engineer at Unique Hydra, where he manufactured customer unique designs and layouts of air diving systems. Hannes is an experienced Senior Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the research industry. He is skilled in multi-discipline project execution, negotiation, and marketing. Hannes has an excellent understanding of manufacturing in the South African industry and is knowledgeable in Autodesk Inventor for Mechanical Design. Additionally, Hannes has completed several courses, including Solar Energy for Engineers, Architects and Code Inspectors, Digital Manufacturing & Design, and The Pytorch for Machine learning projects, which has added to his wide skill base. Hannes has a wide skill base with experience while holding a Senior Engineer position at the CSIR he has expanded both his knowledge of the Information and Communications Technology consulting services as well as product development for outdoor activities. He founded Crypto Labs which specializes in supercomputing and cloud-based infrastructure development, while also founding Extreme Lights, a successful venture in the outdoor lighting industry.
